Thai Massage for beginners, Level 1 & 2, Foundation of Thai Massage

This course builds a strong foundation of your knowledge of ancient Thai massage positions, covering the entire body -total 158 positions and 19 level 2 positions- plus a full day of 2 hour full body massage training. In general, it takes 10-15 days in normal learning to cover all positions; however it is possible at with the TMC teaching system of clear demonstrations to do it in 5 full days.

You will follow Regi’s teaching and refer to the text manual with 221 pictures.

TMC curriculum, Foundation of Thai Massage level 1 covers the whole body massage positions of head, neck, shoulders, face, back on side lying, back massage face down, arms, abdominal, legs, stretching and ending of the session. You will also learn general knowledge about Thai massage regarding safe practice, cautionary area and contraindication to massage.

You will be able to perform 1-3 hour massage successfully with suitable planning. You will gain understanding of a safe massage, contraindications, anatomical landmark on the different parts of the body especially on the back while giving massage following the steps in the manual. Regi will explain and teach how to locate these anatomy landmark areas.

A short presentation of anatomy and physiology is shown in the class for better understanding. You will also get a better understanding and ability to massage with knowledge on location of the lines and Sen Sib on the body.

The Level 2 workbook shows pictures from Level 1 for easy reminding steps. The workbook includes Yogi Stretching Exercise “Lue Sri Dadton” of 17 postures with ancient drawing. Students will receive full training on the Yogi Exercise started from Level 1 and continue until complete all 17 postures in Level 2. This is a course in itself.

This course is the most comprehensive proven therapeutic techniques by the Thai Massage Revival Project. This Thai government sponsored project in cooperated of 12 renown organisations and temple in Thai massage and Thai traditional medicine fields. The lessons were drafted and therapists were trained to apply these techniques to various community hospital bases around the country with scientific measurement system to arrive at the effective results with over all above 80% successful outcome. Thus, the techniques are approved for formal training to public.

Level 3 exists of 22 lessons on how to treat different ailments such as lower back pain, strain, sprain, headache, constipation, leg cramps etc. Regi demonstrates and points out each pressure point (acupressure points) and how to apply with therapeutic purposes. Therapeutic massage is applied together with the massage techniques learned from Level 1 and 2. The class includes massage planning to apply to different ailment and practice to provide therapeutic massage under closed teacher’s supervision.

On the last day of this course you will learn how to apply steamed herbal ball with Thai Poultice massage for therapeutic result based on techniques learned from Level 1,2 and 3. This course is for anyone who is serious about Thai massage and want to use their skills for therapeutic purposes on their friends and family or to add as a professional skill as therapist.

This course is an impressive 2 days class. The teaching ensures your ability to perform Thai foot massage to your family and friends, or add on to your massage professional career. TMC most effective and systematic training will enable students to follow Regi’s demonstration easily with provided charts and
workbook, then practice the lessons with so much fun and pleasure. Short sessions in legs, hands, arms, and shoulder massage are included in the course. Great complement to spa and salons to apply Thai massage with other massage modalities and herbal ball application. The content of this course is based on the Foundation of Thai Massage (Level 1) with a unique revised position that appropriately applicable on Table. Some stretching positions are eliminated from this set up, yet maintain the genuineness of the formalities of Thai massage. The purpose is to suite the physical demand and work space to some practitioners, applicable to beginners as well.
